蕊 頭 構 造
催 化 蕊 頭 是 由 多 種 不 同 材 料 的 陶 土 混 合 後 ， 經 過 特 殊 的 方 法 製 造( 專 利 方 法 ) ， 而 成 為 一 種 多 孔 性 的 蕊 頭 ( 似 海 棉 體 ， 其 細 孔 密 度 為 萬 分 之 五 ) ， 孔 徑 約 在 3 μm 左 右 。
蕊 頭 功 能
點 燃 蕊 頭 時 ， 精 油 先 由 棉 紗 蕊 吸 上 ， 再 利 用 精 油 的 表 面 張 力 附 著 在 蕊 頭 的 毛 細 孔 內 ， 蕊 頭 是 以 高 科 技 合 成 ， 外 環 由 白 金 合 金 製 成 ， 外 層 燃 燒 溫 度 控 制 在 500°C ， 內 層 控 制 在 ; 而 內 環 由 陶 瓷 製 作 完 成 ， 能 保 持 恆 溫 ， 讓 精 油 在 無 火 狀 態 下 催 化 。 悶 燒 原 理 雖 使 外 環 溫 度 相 當 高 ， 但 仍 十 分 安 全 ， 即 使 紙 張 等 易 燃 物 直 接 接 觸 也 不 容 易 燃 燒 ， 若 不 小 心 把 瓶 子 打 翻 導 致 精 油 流 出 ， 也 不 會 起 火 燃 燒 。 ( 儘 量 避 免 用 手 觸 摸 蕊 頭 ， 以 免 燙 傷 。 )
蕊 頭 為 甚 麼 要 保 持 恒 溫 60°C 的 道 理?
異 丙 醇 (英 文 縮 寫 - IPA ) 分 子 式 為 (CH3) 2CHOH ， 分 子 量 為 60.1 。 在 通 風 良 好 的 地 方 。 約 在 5°C 時 開 始 揮 發 ， 但 經 悶 燒 加 溫 到 52°C 後 即 可 完 全 氣 化 ， 進 而 破 壞 IPA 的 一 切 結 構 及 性 能 ， 使 異 丙 醇 不 會 殘 留 在 空 氣 中 ， 這 也 是 蕊 頭 為 甚 麼 要 保 持 恆 溫 60°C 的 道 理 。
美 國 專 利 白 金 FLORACE 蕊 頭 介 紹
Prepare your fragrance lamp just as you would for use with your stone burner.
1. To avoid spills place lamp on glass plate when filling. (Fragrance will damage finished surfaces on contact.)
2. Use funnel to fill lamp 1/2- 2/3 thirds full of catalytic fragrance oil.
3. Insert cloth wick into lamp with wick assembly resting on lamp neck tier cap as shown to the right.
4. Ensure cloth wick is fully inserted into lamp and wick base is seated in tier cap or an * adaptor collar *.
5. Let Dry cloth wick absorb fragrance for 5 to 10 minutes before use.
* NOTE: If your fragrance lamp uses a removable metal collar instead of an attached tier cap, use a FLORACE Platinum Wick adapter collar. This will insure a proper fit.
LIGHTING THE FLORACE PLATINUM WICK: The Platinum Wick? lights differently than your stone burner.
Light the FLORACE Platinum Wick in the middle, not on top, of the wick assembly.
The FLORACE Platinum Wick does not have a tall open flame as a sign the wick is lit; however, a small flame may appear. If so, gently blow it out before use.
The FLORACE Platinum Wick, once lit, gradually warms up without an open flame and builds up fragrance release. Remember to WAIT after the flame is first applied to make sure the wick is not lit before reapplying flame.
STEP 1 Heat ALL sides of the platinum screen located in middle of wick assembly, until it begins to glow. Hold flame on platinum screen for 20-30 seconds using regular lighter or, for best results, 10-15 seconds using a wind resistant lighter as shown.
STEP 2 Remove flame and WAIT 30-45 seconds for the Platinum Wick to gradually heat up and release fragrance. If small flame appears gently blow it out. Fragrance Lamps will not disperse fragrance if open flame is present.
STEP 3 Make sure any open flame is out before covering the Platinum Wick with protective Crown Cap and enjoy. You will begin to smell fragrance and may see occasional white puffs of steam when lit.
EXTINGUISHING THE FLORACE PLATINUM WICK
Follow the same steps as you would for your stone burner.
Caution: Caps get hot handle with care.
1. Remove the Crown Cap.
2. Place Snuff Cap over FLORACE Platinum Wick seated on lamp neck tier cap.
3. Replace the Crown Cap and enjoy as a decorative accessory.
4. The FLORACE Platinum Wick will self extinguish if catalytic fragrance runs out.
5. The FLORACE Platinum Wick can be blown out like a candle and will self extinguish if operated in front of a fan or draft.
Safety Precautions (Please Read Carefully)
Follow the same precautions as you would for your stone burner.
1. When filling do not place lamp or bottle caps on wooden furniture or painted surfaces.
2. Use a saucer under lamp to prevent possible damage to furniture finishes.
3. Do not overfill. Wipe up any oil spills or drips before lighting the wick.
4. Place on flat, stable surface away from any other combustible materials.
5. Do not touch the wick as it is hot even though there is no flame.
6. Always cover the wick with the Crown Cap when in use.
7. Never place caps on or over any open flame.
8. Caps may get hot during operation. Handle all caps and wick with care.
9. Keep fragrance oil bottles sealed and lamps capped to avoid accidental spills and evaporation.
10. Do not leave lamp unattended during operation.
11. Keep lamp and fragrance oil out of reach of children and pets.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Cover wick with Snuff Cap to avoid weakening fragrance when not in use.2. Change the cloth wick when fragrance strength weakens or lamp becomes hard to light.
After extended use the Platinum Wick? cloth wick can be changed.
CHANGING THE COTTON WICK
To remove the used cloth wick:Hold both finger tabs, turn wick clockwise then push up, turn counterclockwise and pull cloth wick out.
To insert new cloth wick:Hold finger tabs, align key tab with key slot, push open ends of cloth wick up into the wick assembly, turn finger tab clockwise, then pull down and turn it counterclockwise to lock into place.
TIPS:
1. Your lamp is smoking.
Make sure you are not operating lamp in front of a fan or draft.
Occasional puffs of white steam may appear and produced by the water content in most catalytic fragrances.
If smoke appears, it is caused by the fragrance brand used. Smoke is not a function of the Platinum Wick?
2. Your wick won't light or stay lit.
Make sure lamp is at least ? full of fragrance.
Prior to lighting make sure snuff cap was on lamp preventing weakening and evaporation.
You have allowed the dry cotton wick to soak for at least 10 minutes.
You keep the open flame on all sides of the wick until screen glows.
You have waited for the wick to heat up, for at least 1 minute, before re-lighting.
Do not hold open flame on wick assembly for longer than 1 minute.
Make sure your lighter has a robust flame. Do not use matches.
You are not operating lamp in front of a fan or draft.
Try using another brand of catalytic fragrance or re-filling with fresh fragrance.
